A fire broke out at the Indorama Ventures factory site on Rue Schwarzenhof in Steinfort on Saturday afternoon, prompting a swift emergency response and precautionary measures for nearby residents.

Emergency services were alerted to a fire outside the Indorama Ventures plant in Steinfort on Saturday afternoon. According to police, the blaze occurred in an outdoor area of the facility, with RTL sources indicating that solar panels may have been involved.

The municipality also confirmed the incident on Saturday and posted on Facebook that the situation was "now under control". The fire has since been extinguished and, according to the head of operations at the scene, no one was injured.

Residents in the Steinfort area received an alert text message via the LU-Alert system as a precaution, officials at the scene confirmed to RTL.

It was further reported that staff from the company were on leave at the time of the incident.

The warning message advised residents to keep doors and windows closed, avoid the affected area, and keep access routes clear for emergency vehicles.
