On Thursday morning, Junglinster municipal council wrote on social media that the town hall had fallen victim to burglars, rendering municipal services unavailable for a short period of time.
According to police, a window had been broken to enable the perpetrators to gain access. It has not yet been confirmed if any items had been stolen, other than cash, according to mayor Ben Ries, who added that the building had been subjected to material damage.
The town hall reopened at lunchtime on Thursday.
