On Sunday, Minister of Immigration and Asylum Jean Asselborn paid a visit to the Tony Rollman car park in Kirchberg, where 50 firefighters are currently setting up temporary tents for Ukrainian refugees.

In a Facebook post, the politician later announced that the Ministry thus helps provide 400 to 500 beds for the National Bureau for Admission (ONA). Minister Asselborn also thanked everyone involved in this operation, highlighting the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS), private companies, and the municipality of Luxembourg City in particular.

CGDIS volunteers also helped prepare a hotel in Echternach for refugees arriving from Ukraine. Here, in the east of the Grand Duchy, up to 100 people will be able to stay at the former Grand Hôtel. Last week, teams helped set up 66 beds in a single day.
