A break-in was reported on Avenue de la Liberté in Niederkorn at around 2.15am on Friday morning. The intruder had gained entry to the property and searched through a number of cupboards before entering the residents’ bedroom, waking them up.
The burglar promptly fled the scene. Although police conducted a search operation, they were unable to locate the intruder. An investigation has been launched.
A motorist was escorted off the road by police for driving 40 km/h on the A13 motorway. It soon became apparent that the driver was heavily intoxicated and promptly had his licence removed.
On the A1 motorway, a driver was seen weaving across the road and driving erratically. Police caught up with the vehicle at the Cloche d’Or and conducted a breathalyser test. The driver was found to be over the limit and was made to hand over his licence.
In Hollerich, police pulled over a vehicle for speeding on Route d’Esch shortly after 3.00am. A positive breathalyser test followed, and the driver was fined.
