RTL Today
Police officers in the capital received reports of an intoxicated individual harassing passersby on Grand-Rue at around 2.45pm on Thursday.

A police patrol at the scene found a visibly intoxicated man wandering around the city’s main shopping thoroughfare. When asked to stop his harassment of others, the man complied, but shortly afterwards police observed him attempting to steal two beer bottles from a nearby store.

In his drunken state, the man was deemed to represent a risk to himself and others, and was duly apprehended.

At around 10pm on Thursday, the authorities were alerted to a broken-down vehicle near the Micheville Tunnel on the N31 in Esch-sur-Alzette. Officers arriving at the site found a parked van with a visibly intoxicated driver inside. The man was issued with a provisional driving ban and had his licence confiscated on the spot.
