While Halloween attracts more and more enthusiasts in Luxembourg each year, the Grand Ducal police wish to remind everyone of the importance of taking certain precautions. At parties and gatherings, it is recommended to keep an eye on one's belongings, never leave a drink unattended, and remain particularly vigilant in crowded areas where pickpocketing is more common.

Police are also urging motorists to be extra vigilant. The presence of many children in costumes trick-or-treating in the streets increases the risk of accidents, especially at night. Drivers are therefore advised to adjust their speed and remain attentive to pedestrians. Authorities also remind the public that alcohol remains one of the leading causes of serious accidents and recommend not driving after consuming alcohol.

The advice also applies to families. Children going trick-or-treating are encouraged to travel in groups, walk on the pavement whenever possible, and only cross the road at designated crossings. Police also emphasise the importance of being clearly visible in the dark, particularly through the use of reflective gear or lights.

Finally, anyone who notices suspicious behaviour or objects is asked to immediately contact the police on 113 and follow the instructions of the officers on site.
