Cases dropped by 19% over that same period of time, with only 759 people testing positive for Covid-19.

During the week from 10 to 16 May, a total of 49,806 PCR tests were conducted, 3,600 fewer than during the previous week. 204 people alerted public health officials to a positive rapid test result.

Three people died following an infection with Covid-19, one fewer than the week before. The average age of deceased patients is now 83.

The virus reproduction rate decreased from 0.92 to 0.84. The incidence rate dropped from 147 cases per 100,000 people to 120.

Most people still catch the virus from family circles (45.6%), followed by schools (6.3%), work (4%), and travel (2.8%). In 38% of cases, no infection origin could be determined.

When it comes to Covid-19 variants in the Grand Duchy, the British one remains most prevalent at 81.1% of total cases. The South African mutation represents 6.9%, and the Brazillian one 4.5%. Four new cases of the Indian variant were identified last week.
