Staff at the animal park were surprised during a morning feeding session in mid-September, when they discovered that their guinea pig population had dramatically increased overnight. Some 30 guinea pigs had been added to the enclosure, in a bizarre act of abandonment only exacerbated by the fact that the perpetrator(s) appeared to have thrown the animals over a 180cm tall fence.
The abandoned guinea pigs were not in a good state to begin with, both fearful and half wild. They are currently doing well after veterinary treatment at the park.
