30th contest of French and Luxembourgish sparkling winesGrand Duchy bags 20 gold and 5 silver medals

RTL Today
Luxembourgish sparkling wine remains as valuable as ever, Vinsmoselle being the grand winner of the competition with 5 gold medals in total.

In the annual competition, a jury awards prizes across seventy different categories. Apart from the Luxembourgish contestants, winemakers from the French department Jura, as well as the Alsace and Burgundy regions participated in the contest. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the tasting and subsequent assessment of each wine was however conducted by local juries.

The success story of Luxembourgish sparkling wine continues, if the numbers are any indication. While ten years ago, the country produced an average of 2.1 million bottles per year, this number has by now increased to 3.5 million.
