Alex Bodry's move from the Chamber of Deputies to the Council of State is on track. On Monday evening, the General Council of the LSAP unanimously supported the candidacy to the State Council of the current leader of the Socialists fraction in Parliament. The former minister then thanked the members of the Council via social networks for their trust. He now has nine days to file his application, which must be registered by 19 December.
From 1 January 2020, the deputy mayor of Sanem, Georges Engel, will replace Bodry at the head of the LSAP parliamentary group.
Bodry's parliamentary seat is expected to go to the next candidate on the party's southern party list, Simone Asselborn-Bintz.
