Government reshuffleFrancois Bausch confirms Henri Kox will take up Housing portfolio

RTL Today
As current government member Sam Tanson is taking over the role of Minister of Justice whilst remaining Minister for Culture, discussions have surrounded who would replace her in the Ministry of Housing.

Tanson took up the Justice portfolio to step in for colleague Felix Braz, who suffered a heart attack several weeks ago and remains in hospital. The Greens were reluctant to reveal who would join the government at their press conference on Wednesday, as they planned to vote on and announce the decision at the specially-held party conference next week on 3 October.

RTL previously reported that current MP and president of the parliamentary commission on housing, Henri Kox, could take over the role from Tanson. On Saturday, senior government member François Bausch confirmed in an interview with RTL that Kox would be nominated as Minister for Housing.

Kox's mandate will also include becoming Associate Minister of Defence and Minister for Internal Security to support Bausch in those mandates, as the latter will take up the mantle of Deputy Prime Minister, alongside current Deputy Prime Minister Etienne Schneider.
