With most events being restricted to the online sphere, it was more difficult to get people’s attention.
Despite the fact that many students and pupils are currently facing exams, close to 200 people gathered at Krautmaart on Saturday.

Our colleagues from RTL talked to Magali Paulus from the Center of Ecological Learning Luxembourg. She noted: “Science clearly tells us that we urgently need to act on climate change. We all know it by now, politicians and corporations. And yet, we are still very slow.”
People in the streets of the capital thus demanded quick change: “We have the feeling that there is a lot of talk and little action. We already saw that with last year’s climate law. It is still unclear how we want to reach our ambitious goals.”

The weather certainly played into the hands of protesters on Saturday, with many people taking to the streets of the capital. This has once more proven that real-life events cannot be substituted by online editions.
Frédéric Krier from the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) commented: “The digital sphere can help compliment the message, but never become a real alternative.”
