According to a press release by ALVA issued on Tuesday, further cases of the H5N1 virus have been identified in wild birds in the country, affecting nine greylag geese and one heron.
As a precaution, ALVA has now banned all exhibitions, fairs, and markets involving poultry. Existing restrictions remain in place, including the requirement to keep birds indoors or under protective netting to prevent contact with wild animals.
ALVA also reiterated that there is no risk to public health, even when consuming eggs or poultry meat.
Any sightings of dead or sick birds should be reported to ALVA.
