
When the officers arrived, the man was flailing around with a fir tree. Since he clearly presented a danger to himself and others, he was taken to the police station after a medical check.
Another police intervention took place on Place d’Armes at around 7.30pm. The police had received reports of a man who was threatening passers-by with a sharp object. The officers were able to apprehend him after a brief chase. The man was found to be carrying a nail file, which was seized.
On the way to the police station, he tried to harm himself. The man was taken to hospital but could not be calmed down. According to the police bulletin, he threatened and insulted the hospital staff. He was given a fine and put in a cell for the night.
