According to police, the driver lost control of his vehicle around 8am on Rue Clairefontaine, which caused him to hit the pedestrian and came to a stop in a ditch.
First responders tried to revive the 50-year-old driver, but he died behind the wheel. An autopsy was requested to determine the exact cause of death.
Two ambulances and firefighters were on site as well. The pedestrian was taken to hospital.
Police are hoping to clarify the exact course of the accident, thus calling on potential witnesses that were in the area to provide information.
