For over 20 years, the association has been sending clothing, shoes and toys to different Ukrainian cities. And since the war started, their help is more needed than ever before. Jeannot Majerus is the association’s president. He regularly travels to Ukraine and helps in giving out the donations.
He spent the past 10 days in Ukraine, as the 100th lorry with donations from Luxembourg arrived in Vasylkiv, near Kyiv.

The Mayor of Leudelange also came to Vasylkiv and exchanged with their mayor Natalia Balasynovych. She said that the Ukraine would fight until their last men and their last woman had fallen. For her it is very important for the EU to assist Ukraine in the war with Russia. As they are fighting to be a part of “the West”.
Donations for “Hëllef fir Ukrainesch Kanner” are collected every first Saturday of the month in Leudelange. You can find more details on their website. Shoes and clothes are especially needed, but toys are also welcomed. They ask people not to bring any food products as those are bought on site with monetary donations, as to also support the local economy.
