ACENDigital lessons preferred until Pentecost for safety reasons

The Association of National Education Officers (ACEN) said the biggest issue for the reopening of schools would be the psychological pressure on students and teachers.

This was the association's response to the government's exit plan for confinement from schools.

In a statement, ACEN said they supported the Ministry of Education's decision, but expressed concerns over the physical and psychological health of those involved.

ACEN said they felt it would be safer to keep lessons online until Pentecost.
Statistically, ACEN said the risk was higher for their members, as education officers are likely to hold three times as many lessons due to insufficient coefficients for age. As their subjects do not form a core part of the curriculum, they also have up to 5 more classes than core subjects, thus increasing the social interaction and thereby the risk to their health.

Many questions still remain unanswered on the subject and ACEN said they hoped the focus would strictly remain on pupils' and teachers' health.
