Diekirch’s famous Fisselsbréck, a pedestrian suspension bridge that has crossed the Sauer since 1975 behind the Town Hall, is currently supported by four concrete pillars and a metal construction.

The bridge were in “very bad condition”, the authorities said. This spring, engineers noticed that the cables holding the bridge required urgent replacement.

Whether the cables will ultimately be replaced remains the question, as a team is currently redeveloping the bridge. The support pillars and steel construction cost €60,000.
