Hansjörg Reimer, the former general director of the hospital in Esch, will step down by the end of the month. He consulted with the board of administration to discuss possible successors, and both parties agreed that the new director should have the liberty of only needing to focus on managing the institution without having to simultaneously work as a doctor. This was confirmed by Georges Mischo, mayor of Esch and president of the board of administration, in an RTL interview.

Meanwhile, Dr Serge Meyer will become medical councillor. The board unanimously voted for Daniel Cardao as the interim director until a long-term solution is found.

The 45-year-old previously held an advisory position on the board at CHEM. Earlier in his career, he worked as financial and administrative director of CRP-SANTE and as an administrative manager in one of ArcelorMittal's branches.
