The Schueberfouer 2026 edition drew to a close without any significant incidents, the police have confirmed. Officers were on duty every day at the fairground and in the surrounding area, as is customary.
This year, police mainly dealt with lost and found items, along with interventions related to thefts, disputes, and heavily intoxicated individuals.
Police registered a total of 63 lost or recovered items during the fair. In 15 of these cases, formal loss declarations were filed. Managing lost property represented a considerable part of police work throughout Schueberfouer 2026.
Officers also responded to 20 cases of simple theft and were called to intervene in 18 disputes, none of which had any further consequences.
Eight instances of minor bodily harm were recorded. In three separate cases, police had to deal with thefts involving violence.
Furthermore, police carried out 10 interventions involving heavily intoxicated people.
Officers also looked after eight children who had become separated from their parents or guardians.
Notably, none of these children had been registered with the free lost children's service, which, police noted, made it more difficult to reunite them with their families or caretakers.
Additional interventions included dealing with vehicles that were obstructing the area or had to be removed, as well as isolated cases of vandalism and drug-related offences.
Overall, police say the number and nature of interventions were in line with what is typically expected for an event of this scale. No major incident was recorded at this year's edition.
