The defendant had been taken to court for having violated professional secrecy in February 2013. The customs official had warned a man involved in a drugs investigation that his phone was being wiretapped.

During the trial, the defendant, who was an acquaintance of the man under investigation, claimed he had only wanted to scare the man and had had no knowledge that he was being investigated.

Given the differing testimonies on the events, the court found the customs official guilty and sentenced him to a €3,000 fine.
