550 new infections were recorded out of 38,647 tests between 28 September and 4 October, marking a 20% increase over the previous week’s 460 confirmed cases.
Two people died of Covid-19 in Luxembourg last week. On October 4, there were 1,005 active infections and 7,793 recovered patients.
Most contaminations still occur in families: one in four catch the virus from family members. 13% of cases are linked to stays abroad.
The average age of positive patients has slightly increased, from 36.8 to 37.6 years.
The number of tests performed in the context of contact tracing remains high at 4,486.
The incidence rate is still above 50, with 88 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Last week, 1,498 people were in quarantine, a 40% decrease from the previous week, and 1,092 in isolation.
