Violating sectorial regulationsCMCM faces legal setback as court nullifies Ministerial accreditation

RTL Today
Following internal leadership disputes, the CMCM now faces further challenges as the Administrative Court nullifies its ministerial accreditation following a legal victory by the Insurance Companies Association over regulatory violations.

The Mutualist Medical and Supplementary Fund (CMCM) at the beginning of the year faced significant turmoil due to an internal leadership fight. And it now appears that the country’s largest mutual insurer has also been found to violate sectorial regulations, as highlighted in a legal case launched by the Insurance Companies Association (ACA).

The ACA had sued the CMCM after assessing that some of their activities violated the laws on mutual insurance companies, and that they failed to meet the required obligations. The Administrative Court has now ruled in favour of the ACA, rendering the ministerial accreditation of the CMCM statutes null and void.

The CMCM still has time to appeal the decision.
