The motorist attempted to overtake a car which had stopped at the zebra crossing to allow the boy to cross the road. The driver at fault slowed down when he saw the child but could not prevent a small collision from happening.
The boy was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the car was cautioned by police.
