
The organisation listed the declining number of members, the many older members and a four-person board as the reasons for disbandment. After 79 years of ‘Christian and social engagement’, the KMA and its newspaper have come to an end.
Its treasury was dissolved, and the remaining money donated to various organisations, including the Willibrordus Bauverein and Doctors Without Borders. However, the new aid organisation HUT is not among the beneficiaries.
The KMA was founded after the Second World War by priest Victor Elz, and continuously boasted 3,000 members until the 1970s.
