The foundation ‘Taking Action for Women’s Hearts’ has made it its mission to raise awareness about cardiovascular problems affecting women and how to prevent them. In recent years, cardiovascular problems have been the leading cause for women’s deaths in Luxembourg and abroad.

Women aged 45 to 54 have the highest death rate from heart attacks. They have three critical risk phases in their hormonal cycles and display different symptoms than men.

Women are therefore advised to listen to their bodies and not downplay certain symptoms. Similarly, medical staff should be trained to spot the right warning signs and take their patients seriously.
