Scouts and guidesCamp with close to 300 participants organised with the help of Covid Check

RTL Today
200 children and 75 staff members from the Luxembourgish Scouts and Guides Association (FNEL) were able to celebrate their 100th anniversary this year.

For many people, it was the first large-scale event without a need for masks or social distancing in a very long time. Our colleagues from RTL were also present at the event and captured some impressions for us:

“I was so happy to get to know new people.”
“We are having fun with doing handicraft work and other cool activities.”

Staff members were also extremely happy to switch back to normal life after previous events were only held online: “When we told the kids that they could take off the mask after the test, their eyes lit up.”

Organisers wanted to show that with the help of the Covid Check mechanism, large-scale events can still be held, even in times of the pandemic. They were supported by the Ministry of Education, as well as the municipality of Differdange.

Even though the testing procedures may seem like a hassle to some people, officials at the event were able to detect one positive case beforehand.
