The police report indicates that the intruder used the pepper spray when the resident tried to detain him. Other tenants of the building were also unable to stop the man, and so far, police searches have come up empty.
The suspect is believed to be around 25 years old, of fair complexion, 1.70m tall and of thin build. He was wearing a grey jacket, black trousers, and a black rucksack at the time of the incident.
Police also received reports of another series of break-ins affecting cars in the Gare district. These included incidents on Rue Marie et Pierre Curie, Avenue Jean-Pierre Pescatore, and Rue du Fort Neipperg.
In Esch-sur-Alzette, a car was broken into on Rue des Jardins.
