Following the Jos Schummer's resignation, "Är Leit" elected replacement David Viaggi will be sworn into the Bissen office by Minister for Home Affairs Taina Bofferding. Roger Saurfeld and Cindy Barros will be acting as first and second aldermen, respectively. For reference, the reason behind this reshuffle is the reclassification of land meant for the Google data centre.

In Differdange, Roberto Traversini resigned from his mayoral post following the so-called garden shed affair, making Differdange the third city in the country to have a woman at its head. The elected Green MP Christiane Brassel-Rausch will also be sworn in by Bofferding on Friday afternoon.
