In preparation for the tripartite on aviation, which is held on 26 September, the social partners are preparing for a new tripartite to be held on Sunday 18, Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 September. The aim is to give a perspective on the overworked staff at Luxair.
Three days of discussions between the government, the trade unions and the employers should lead to tangible measures for citizens and entrepreneurs to counter the current surge in the price of energy, raw materials and services.
So far, the government has already announced its national plan to save at least 15% of energy across the country, and held a first bipartite round on 26 August. This Wednesday, the government will meet with the trade unions and employers in bipartite meetings to prepare for the weekend and, above all, to establish a basis for discussions.
Inflation, will be at the foreground of the discussions, with the inflation rate having risen by 1 percent in August. Statec is due to inform the government of the latest inflation figures today, which will then be presented to the trade unions at the Ministry of State.
Nora Back, president of the OGBL, says she is confident this time - contrary to the tripartite agreement in March, which she did not sign because she was opposed to the postponement of a second index.
She continues by assuring that she would go to the bipartite meeting on Wednesday in a constructive spirit. ‘We are going there to find an agreement (between social partners) and above all, solutions to help people.’
For UEL president Michel Reckinger, it will be necessary to go into detail. To him, it is important that the starting point is the same for all. ‘We have to reach a common consensus. That is the challenge.’
