MobilityBeat the traffic with Luxembourg's upgraded mobility app and website

Luxembourg's public transport operator Verkéiersbond have launched the new intermodal mobility app and website - mobility is now tailor-made!

Created by German software developer HaCon, the app and website provide detailed and comprehensive information about each transport option in the Grand Duchy.

This means that the mobilteit.lu website and app now also offer details about alternative transport options such as bikes, car-sharing, and walking modes. Think Google Maps, but exclusively designed for Luxembourg.

The project was brought to life by the government and is hoped to help in the fight against traffic congestion. Minister for Mobility and Public Works François Bausch explained that the "technology facilitating the use of sustainable means of transport is an important component of our multimodal mobility concept.”

He added: “By means of a seamless, intermodal and high-quality network, we encourage people to switch from their private cars to public transport. Travel information, punctuality and reliable connections are essential.”

The app and website now take into account the current traffic situation, including roadworks. The route, in return, is adjusted to save time and relieve busy roads of congestion.

Cyclists will also be happy about the improved app and website. There is an option to pick routes depending on personal preferences.
