Two individuals attempted a burglary at a supermarket in Wiltz on Friday night, only to flee after accidentally breaking a bottle of wine they intended to steal.

On Friday night, two individuals attempted to break into a supermarket located in Wiltz. The incident took place near an area known as “beim Hundsburn” at around 11.15pm.

According to local law enforcement, the suspects gained access to the supermarket by forcefully opening a sliding door. However, their actions triggered an alarm that alerting the authorities. In their brief intrusion, they aimed to steal two bottles of wine. When one of the bottles accidentally broke during their attempt, they seemingly changed their minds and decided to return the remaining bottle to its original place.

Following the failed burglary, the two individuals fled in the direction of Lann. Wiltz police are actively seeking any potential witnesses who might have information regarding the incident. Authorities are therefore encouraging anyone with knowledge or details related to this break-in to contact their local police station.
