At least 15 physical attacks on bus drivers were recorded between 1 January and the beginning of December 2022 in Luxembourg. As a result, drivers have asked for improved security inside public transport vehicles, such as panic buttons or security cameras.
So far, 236 of the 1,045 buses operating under the new RGTR contract are currently equipped with a cabin or wall, as Minister for Mobility François Bausch pointed out at the steering committee for safety in public transport.
