The crisis surrounding the Andreosso construction group continues to deepen: three additional subsidiaries – Andreosso Marbres, Andreosso Carrelages, and Andreosso Chapes – have now filed for bankruptcy. In total, approximately 160 employees across the Crauthem-based group have been affected.
Jean-Luc De Matteis of the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) emphasised that the bankruptcies are not linked to an economic downturn. On the contrary, the subsidiaries reportedly had full order books – but officials close to the matter were unwilling to delve into the exact circumstances leading to the bankruptcy.
The situation had been under observation for some time, and with each bankruptcy filing, employees received consistent support, especially with administrative procedures.
The most recent filings impact between 35 and 40 more workers. Nevertheless, De Matteis expressed cautious optimism: given the persistent shortage of skilled labour in the construction and craft industries, many of the affected workers are expected to find new employment relatively quickly.
