Police responded to alcohol-fueled disturbances across the country between Saturday night and early Sunday.
Shortly after midnight in Wiltz, officers were called to a café where a man was behaving erratically. Despite efforts to calm him, he became increasingly disruptive and eventually lay down in the middle of the street. Deemed a danger to himself and others, the intoxicated man was taken into custody after a medical check. Once at the police station, he continued causing problems by urinating on the door and verbally abusing officers. A full report was filed.
In another incident in Esch, police were called to a hospital where an intoxicated patient was acting aggressively toward staff. The individual, considered a threat, was arrested on the spot.
Earlier Saturday evening in Ettelbruck, police stopped a bus following reports of two drunk men on board, one of whom had allegedly brandished a knife. Officers searched the suspects, finding a prohibited folding knife on one and a small quantity of hashish on the other.
