According to reports, the motorist smashed into a parked car in Gasperich, but failed to stop at the site of the crash. He was intercepted by a police patrol several minutes following the incident.
After refusing to submit to a breathalyser test, the driver had his licence temporarily confiscated and will be made to appear before magistrates as a result of his actions.
Two other motorists were stopped in Echternach and Sandweiler on Thursday night on suspicion of drink driving. Both delivered positive alcohol tests and had their licences and vehicles confiscated as a result.
