Gilles Feith was named CEO of the flag carrier airline last Tuesday. He succeeds Adrien Ney who is retiring after 15 years at the head of Luxair. Feith will assume his new role on 1 June.
According to the new CEO, it is challenging to find the right measures in these difficult times. All airlines and the entire travel sector are feeling the sting of the pandemic. Feith explained that he "already thought about the situation a lot. My role will be to help."
The first Luxair flights will take off on 1 June. It still remains unknown how many flights there will be, how many passengers can board one plane, and what kind of precautionary measures will apply.
According to Feith, our flying habits will not be the same again.
LuxairTours expects to resume its operations two weeks later and hopes to send tourists to their summer destinations. The new CEO stressed that Luxair will guarantee security and confidence to its customers.
