The new Grand Ducal couple will make their first official visits abroad to Brussels and Berlin later this month to strengthen Luxembourg's ties with its neighbours.
According to a press release from the Grand Ducal Court, the visits aim to strengthen the historical, political, and cultural ties between Luxembourg and its immediate neighbours, in a spirit of mutual respect and enhanced cooperation.
The Grand Ducal couple's first official visit abroad will take place on 24 October in Brussels, where the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess will be received by the King and Queen of Belgium. On 27 October, they will then be welcomed in Berlin by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender. Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel will accompany them on both visits.
