The police reported several thefts and two vehicle seizures for drink-driving in a series of incidents across the country on Friday.
Luxembourg police reported a series of thefts and traffic incidents occurring on Friday.
In Kirchberg, an individual stole several bottles of perfume from a shop during the afternoon. Authorities quickly identified a suspect, who was subsequently arrested.
Later in the evening, two separate burglaries were reported in Helmsange and Brachtenbach. In Helmsange, intruders forced open a patio door to access a residence, stealing jewellery and cash. In Brachtenbach, entry was gained by smashing a garage window. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
The police remind the public that advice on burglary prevention is available on their official website.
Vehicles seized for drink driving
Separately, police seized two vehicles for drink-driving offences.
On Friday evening in Differdange, a patrol stopped a speeding car on Boulevard Emile Krieps. The driver failed a breathalyser test, resulting in the immediate revocation of their licence. A police inspection further revealed multiple prior fines for drink driving, prompting the public prosecutor's office to order the seizure of the vehicle.
In a second incident during the night on the A13 motorway towards Esch-sur-Alzette, a driver was found to be intoxicated and was also unable to present a valid driving licence. Their car was similarly seized.
