Long-serving Luxembourg diplomat Jean-Marc Hoscheit has died unexpectedly at the age of 66.

On Friday, RTL learned of the passing of diplomat and political scientist Jean-Marc Hoscheit.

Hoscheit served as Luxembourg’s ambassador to France in the 1990s and later as Permanent Representative to UNESCO and the OECD.

In 2008, he was appointed ambassador to The Hague in the Netherlands. Since 2012, he had held the position of Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva.
