Twelve new petitions on topics ranging from tax cuts to road safety measures are now open for signature on the Chamber of Deputies' website.

Twelve new petitions were opened for public signature on the Chamber of Deputies' website on Friday, covering a range of topics from taxation to road safety.

The proposals include diverse citizen initiatives. One petitioner speaks out against raising social security contribution rates, while another advocates for the complete elimination of income tax on salaries below €4,000.

In the area of road safety, one petition demands the installation of an average speed camera on the road between Feulen and Fussekaul near Heiderscheid. A separate proposal seeks to restrict road closures for public events exclusively to holidays, weekends, and public holidays.

Other petitions address broader mobility issues. One suggests a ban on jet skis on the Moselle river, and another aims to prohibit simultaneous road and rail works, proposing instead that such projects be limited to one per canton.

These petitions are now open for a 42-day period, during which they must gather a minimum of 5,500 signatures to qualify for a public debate in parliament.
