According to a 2025 survey, tourists in Luxembourg said they enjoyed coming to the Grand Duchy on holiday and the majority would visit again.

An initial assessment of the 2025 holiday season showed a 1% increase in the number of overnight stays compared to the previous year. In the first six months of 2025, there were over 2 million overnight stays recorded.

On Thursday, tourism minister Eric Thill provided some facts and figures relating to the tourism season.

The national campaign "Lëtzebuerg, dat ass Vakanz!", which sought to encourage residents and border residents to play tourist in their own country, was deemed a great success. There were 83 guided tours and the ever popular Vëlosummer,  which offered more than 500 km of cycle routes and attracted tens of thousands of participants.

Hotels were booked up to 74% capacity, while the Grand Duchy's campsites remained popular among visitors from abroad, with 26% more stays than 2019. A survey showed that tourists were happy with their stay in Luxembourg and that 90% planned to visit again in future. The majority would also recommend the country to other potential visitors.

Thill said the results from the 2025 season confirmed the tourism sector was in good health, and reiterated the commitment to sustainable tourism. The Ministry of Tourism will continue to modernise tourism infrastructure going forward and is also planning a visibility campaign to raise awareness for professionals and volunteers in the sector.
