Eritrea, Syria, and Venezuela122 people sought asylum in Luxembourg in July

Asylum applications in Luxembourg fell to 122 in July, down from 131 the previous month, according to figures released Friday. Most applicants came from Eritrea, Syria, and Venezuela.

Thirteen people left Luxembourg last month: nine voluntarily, and four through forced deportation. As of July, forced deportations for the year total 26 and voluntary departures 52, bringing the combined figure to 78.

On temporary protection, July saw 67 applications, all from Ukrainian nationals, 65 of which were granted. Since January, 452 temporary protection applications have been made, 95.9% of them from Ukrainians.
