Police in Luxembourg were kept busy on Thursday night due to a number of motorists driving under the influence, with four licenses being revoked.

During routine speed checks on the N11 in Hersberg, officers noticed a speeding vehicle and promptly pulled the driver over. A subsequent breathalyser test returned positive results and the driver had their licence confiscated.

In Wiltz, another motorist drew police attention on Thursday evening due to their dangerous driving. A nearby patrol pulled the vehicle over and made the motorist perform a breathalyser test, which confirmed the individual was over the legal alcohol limit. As a result, officers confiscated their driving licence.

Police in Strassen received reports of a couple fighting on Route d'Arlon and dispatched officers to the scene to investigate. According to initial reports, the couple had started arguing while driving and then came to a stop to continue their disagreement. However, the driver turned out to be drunk, resulting in officers taking away their licence.

At around the same time, a driver was reported to be zigzagging across the A7 near Waldhaff. Shortly afterwards, police pulled the vehicle over and found the driver to be under the influence, resulting in another licence lost.

Finally, in Diekirch, a police patrol spotted a motorist driving the wrong way down a one-way street. Again, the driver was found to be drunk and a provisional driving ban was issued.
