A coordinated rescue operation by Luxembourg Air Rescue and the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps successfully saved an injured cyclist on Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday, 3 August, in a remote wooded area near Tétange that proved challenging for rescue teams to reach, a young man suffered a serious fall while mountain biking and sustained severe injuries.

Given the location's inaccessibility, a helicopter form the Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR) was called in to perform an air rescue in coordination with the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) specialised high-altitude rescue team, GRIMP. In a precisely coordinated operation, the emergency services safely extracted the injured cyclist

After being airlifted from the difficult terrain, the young man was transferred to a nearby location, where the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) took over and transported him to hospital for treatment.
