At around 9pm on Friday, emergency services were called to the Route de Thionville in Dudelange, where a motorcycle had been involved in a serious accident.

According to initial investigations, the motorcyclist lost control of his bike while attempting to overtake another vehicle at the location. As a result, both the rider and the motorcycle were thrown over a wall. Police reported that the 35-year-old man, a resident of France, died at the scene.

The road had to be closed during the rescue and clean-up operation. The incident is being investigated by the forensics team to determine the exact course of events.

The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) also reported further accidents on Friday. Emergency crews were deployed to the A7 motorway following a collision between two vehicles, in which one person was injured. Luxembourgish rescue services also assisted on France’s A31 motorway, though that incident resulted only in material damage.

One person was also injured in Mensdorf after, according to reports, “a car collided with a wall”.
