
A large fire in Esch-sur-Alzette sparked a major emergency response on Wednesday afternoon, while separate road accidents across the country left four people with minor injuries.
A major fire broke out on Wednesday in a hall located on Rue de Belval in Esch-sur-Alzette, prompting a large emergency response. Firefighters from Esch, Kayl, Rumelange, Pétange, and Luxembourg City were deployed after the blaze started around 5pm.
According to emergency services, the affected hall is on Rue de Belval. No injuries were reported.
Authorities also confirmed three other fires on Wednesday – two vegetation fires along the A13 motorway and another fire in Colpach-Haut.
Meanwhile, four people were injured in separate road accidents between 4 and 9pm on Wednesday. A cyclist fell on the Route de Stadtbredimus in Remich, several cars collided on the A4, two motorcyclists crashed between Kautenbach and Wiltz, and a car and a two-wheeler collided in Bascharage.
According to reports, none of the injuries were serious.
