Both 95-octane and 98-octane petrol were affected by this initial increase at petrol stations across the country on Tuesday.
95-octane petrol rose by 1.9 cents to reach €1.453 per litre from Tuesday onwards. Similarly, 98-octane petrol saw an increase of 2.4 cents and is now priced at €1.560 per litre at service stations.
From midnight on Wednesday, the price of diesel will rise by 3.1 cents, reaching €1.376 per litre.
