70 residents in Luxembourg City possess liquid assets exceeding $100 million, placing the Grand Duchy's capital in the top global cities for ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
Luxembourg City hosts at least 70 residents with fortunes exceeding $100 million, according to the latest ranking published by New World Wealth and Henley & Partners.
The ranking positions Luxembourg City in 50th place, just behind Madrid (72 "centi-millionaires") and ahead of other European wealth centres. Only 13 European cities surpass Luxembourg's count, including London (4th globally), Paris, Rome, Milan, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Geneva, as well as Monaco and Nice.
Other notable European entries include Portugal's Algarve region (60th with 55 "centi-millionaires") and Lisbon (69th with 45).
The global top three remains dominated by US metropolitan areas, led by New York with 818 "centi-millionaires", followed by the San Francisco Bay Area (including Silicon Valley) and Los Angeles.
The study exclusively considers liquid assets – including cash, equities, bonds, and business holdings – while excluding real estate valuations. This means Luxembourg's substantial property market does not factor into residents' qualification for the ranking.
