A new energy data platform, Leneda, was launched by Creos on Thursday, aiming to help households monitor and manage their energy usage more effectively.
On Thursday, energy provider Creos officially unveiled Leneda, a new national energy data management platform, in the presence of Minister of the Economy and Energy Lex Delles.
The launch comes in response to growing concerns over rising grid usage costs, which have left many households with electric cars or heat pumps facing unexpectedly high electricity bills earlier this year.
Leneda aims to provide consumers with greater transparency and control over their energy consumption. Once registered, users will have access to detailed information about their electricity and gas usage, regardless of their energy supplier. In the future, the platform will also include data on water and heat consumption.
Minister Delles highlighted the platform's potential to empower consumers, stating, "It is precisely this transparency that is important, that the customer needs." Through Energieauer.lu, users can track Luxembourg's electricity and gas production and imports in real time. Additionally, Leneda allows consumers to monitor their own usage, compare it to their contracted reference power, and avoid exceeding limits that could lead to higher grid usage costs.
For example, users can verify whether charging an electric car has pushed their consumption beyond the agreed reference power, which could result in increased monthly bills. While Leneda is currently accessible only via its official website, a mobile application is expected to be launched in the near future.
